Frequently Asked Questions

General Terms and Conditions

We rent Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes, Electric Bikes, Kids Bikes and City Bikes.   All our bicycles are regularly serviced by our mechanics.  We recommend that you make your booking either by phone or via our web page, to which we will reply as soon as possible.   Reservations can also be made through your hotel reception or our numerous sales points.

To rent a bicycle, the name and signature of the client, telephone number, hotel/apartment name and room number are essential.  For long duration rentals we require a deposit of 50 € per bicycle.  In case of loss of the bike/equipment or damage incurred, the deposit will not be refunded.  Furthermore, the client will be liable to pay for the necessary repairs to damaged items, replacement in the case of theft of the bike or any missing parts that were included at of the date of rental.  We do not give refunds of any deposit made in the case of cancellation once the bike has been reserved.

In case of any accident incurred, the client must contact us (0034 699 944 622) immediately so that we can act in accordance.  It is essential to produce personal documentation (passport or ID card) and that the signature therein coincides with the signature on the rental contract.

A 24 hour rental means exactly that; i.e. if a bike is delivered at 10 am, it will be collected at 10 am the following day.  However, collection of bikes can be made at 7 pm on the same day of rental should the client prefer this service.  During rental time, the client is entirely responsible for the bike.
Punctuality is our motto; however, on days of heavy traffic, we may be a little late, so please bear with us.

Conditions for Teide downhill Tour (Mr.Bike)
Anyone between the ages of 9 and 79, who knows how to ride a bike and is in good health can participate.  Keeping your balance on a bicycle is of great importance!
The use of seatbelts is obligatory at all times whilst travelling in the mini-bus.  The fine for not wearing a seatbelt is 200€, which is payable by the person infringing traffic regulations.
To ensure that our tour is more than safe we have a few rules and regulation for all participants:
In summer:  Please wear suitable clothing.  T-shirts and shorts are fine, but beach wear is not acceptable.

Sports shoes/trainers are recommended.   Sandals, flip-flops and high heels are prohibited.  Due to the altitude and powerful UV rays we recommend applying a high SPF sunscreen before the tour.  A cap is also advisable for use during stops, when most people take off their helmet.  Don’t forget your sunglasses!
In winter: Warm clothing is a must.  It may be warm by the coast, but in the mountains it can get very cold.  Sports shoes/trainers are required, don’t forget your socks!

Please bear in mind the altitude and the effects it could have on our body.  Teide is 3.718 meters above sea level so be prepared for some ear-popping both on the way up and the way down.  Not recommended if you have an ear infection, if you have recently been operated (consult with your specialist) or have been scuba diving the day before.
Do not drink alcohol before this tour.

For this tour to be viable, we need a minimum of 4 participants.   Due to adverse weather conditions the tour may be cancelled.  We will, however, do our utmost to re-schedule the tour without causing you inconvenience.
Cancellation of your participation with less than 24 hours notice makes your ticket null and void.
The tour is conducted at a moderate speed, however, should a participant travel at an excessively slow speed, the guide and chauffer may have to confiscate said person’s bike and oblige them to travel in the mini-bus so as not to disrupt the rest of the group.

Children between 9 – 12 years of age will need to travel in the mini-bus in certain parts of the tour as a precaution.  (Main roads and particularly steep hills).
At the starting point, should a client feel incapable of making the trip by bike, he/she can travel in the mini-bus, without refund on their ticket.

Participation in the tour is at the discretion and risk of each individual.  Everyone should be a responsible and considerate cyclist towards the rest of the group, follow the instructions of the guide, be road proficient and adhere to traffic norms to avoid possible accidents.  We cannot be held responsible for any harm caused by distractions or not heeding instructions given by the guide.

We kindly request participants to respect and protect our nature reserve, our very special Parque Nacional del Teide.  Like this, we can continue to share the beauty of one of the greatest wonders of the world.  ENJOY!
